Connecticut Joins Legal Fight Against Countrywide Over Deceptive Loans

On August 6, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal brought a suit against Bank of America's newly acquired Countrywide Financial Corp. alleging that Countrywide made loans that were unaffordable or unsuitable to the borrower in violation of the state's unfair trade practices and banking laws. The lawsuit was filed in the Hartford State Court, and names Countrywide Financial Corp., Countrywide Home loans Inc. and Countrywide Home Loans Servicing LP as defendants. Press Release
