A public hearing was held this week in Guam to discuss the Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2008, reports the Pacific News Center. Republican legislators introduced the bill, which describes the process as a gruesome and inhumane act that should be prohibited. The bill defines partial birth abortions as killing a partially-delivered fetus.

The local public group Lina´la´ yan Esperansa, or "life and hope", lobbied lawmakers to introduce the bill.
