Salvatore Musso, owner of Musso Plumbng and Heating, Inc., was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the 4th degree by extortion for threatening to fire employees who didn't pay him money they were rightfully awarded, reports the New York AG Office.

In 2006, the New York Department of Labor conducted an audit of Musso's business and found that he failed to pay employees for overtime hours and illegally deducted fnds from paychecks. As a violation of New York State Minimum Wage and Wage Payment Laws, Musso was ordered to pay 21 employees a total of $10,066.79. Musso then allegedly told his employees to cash the checks and give the money to him - or risk losing their jobs. The charges against Musso carry a maximum punishment of four years in prison.
