<description>&#60;p&#62;Colorado law deals with paycheck deductions in section 8-4-105 of its Wage Act, available &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.coworkforce.com/lab/WageAct.pdf&#34;&#62;here&#60;/a&#62;.  As you can see, your situation does not seem to fit any of the categories of allowed deductions, since it does not sound like there was a written agreement or any other authorization by you of the deduction. <description>&#60;p&#62;This is determined by state pay laws, which vary quite a bit.  When you were hired you may also have signed an authorization that permits deductions such as this.  That may or may not be valid, again depending on the state.  Please let us know where you're from.
