According to the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiner's Advisory Committee for Respiratory Care, an unlicensed person may deliver and set up home medical equipment , however, Louisiana Respiratory Therapy Practice Act requires any patient or family demonstration or instruction in its use be performed by a licensed respiratory therapist. What is the timeframe (by law) that a respiratory therapist have to provide the initial education once the patient receives the home medical equipment from an unlicensed person?
