Statute of Limitations question. If after the 3 year SOL for a unsecured debt expires will an unsolicited offer mailed to the creditor that does not acknowledge the debt but agrees to pay and amount to settle the debt constitute a restart of the SOL for that debt? I have read that an agreement to pay a debt will restart the SOL, however this example seems to be a gray area. I want to take care of some old debt but can not afford to pay the whole amount.
