Global Warming and the Kyoto Protocol

In December 1997, a protocol was agreed to at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Kyoto, Japan to combat global warming. The Kyoto Protocol details steps that will be taken by each member country to reduce greenhouse gases. Although the United States is a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol, it has not yet taken steps to ratify the treaty.
