In this election season, it is especially important for employers to review their policies regarding political discussion, according to this article by Nathaniel J. Torres of Morrison & Foerster.  "Employers should provide clear and consistent policies informing their employees of what constitutes acceptable political activity in the workplace," he writes. Policies should:

  1. restrict the display and distribution of political information
  2. limit political discussion
  3. prohibit political banners, buttons, etc.
