The Michigan Recreation and Park Association has joined a major initiative to expand the state's 32-year-old bottle deposit law to include water and other non-carbonated beverage containers, though Senate bill SB 29. Dennis Schornack, executive director of the Association, was quoted by the Detroit Free Press as saying that the bill would help cut down on litter on roadsides and in parks.
