  Each member of the commission shall give a bond in the sum
of five thousand dollars ($5,000) which has been approved by a judge
of the superior court of the county in which the district is located,
to the district for the faithful performance of his duties. The
members of the commission shall receive no compensation whatever
either for general or special services for or on behalf of the
district.
