The State Fire Marshal shall appoint such agents as may be necessary to carry out effectively the provisions of this chapter, who shall be reimbursed for travel expenses as provided in s. 112.061, in addition to their salary, when traveling or making investigations in the performance of their duties. Such agents shall be at all times under the direction and control of the fire marshal, who shall fix their compensation, and all orders shall be issued in the fire marshal’s name and by her or his authority.
