  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.

  • Summons: includes a subpoena, order, or other notice requiring the appearance of a witness. See Florida Statutes 942.01
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
  • Testify: Answer questions in court.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
  • Witness: as used in this chapter , includes a person whose testimony is desired in any proceeding or investigation by a grand jury or in a criminal action, prosecution, or proceeding held by the prosecution or the defense. See Florida Statutes 942.01
