Terms Used In Iowa Code 321.489

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Person: includes any individual, firm, corporation, partnership, joint adventure, or association, and the plural as well as the singular number. See Iowa Code 321H.2
 No record of the conviction of any person for any violation of this chapter shall be admissible as evidence in any court in any civil action.
