1. Certificate of number required. Before any motorboat is rented or leased, the owner of the motorboat shall obtain a certificate of number from the commissioner under section 13056. A person who violates this section after having been adjudicated as having committed 3 or more civil violations under this Part within the previous 5-year period commits a Class E crime.
