- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
The provisions of this subtitle relative to exemptions do not impair a:
(1) Vendor’s purchase money lien on land;
(2) Mechanics’ lien;
(3) Tax lien;
(4) Mortgage; deed of trust; or other security interest.
