  • Indemnification: In general, a collateral contract or assurance under which one person agrees to secure another person against either anticipated financial losses or potential adverse legal consequences. Source: FDIC
  • Office: means the office of mental health. See N.Y. Mental Hygiene Law 7.03

The provisions of section indemnification of state officers and employees” class=”unlinked-ref” datatype=”S” sessionyear=”2019″ statecd=”NY” title=”public officers”>seventeen of the public officers law shall apply to any physician, dentist, psychologist, nurse, optometrist, licensed master social worker, or licensed clinical social worker, licensed to practice pursuant to the education law, who is rendering professional treatment authorized under such license at the request of the office or an office facility to patients receiving care or professional consultation from the office while rendering such professional treatment.
