The Board of Barber Examiners shall conduct examinations not less than two times each year at such time and place as the board may determine. The examinations shall include both a practical demonstration and a written test, which shall embrace the subjects taught in schools of barbering approved by the board. If the provisions of this chapter have been complied with, the board shall issue the proper certificate of registration to the applicant. However, the board may permit a student to be employed at the barber profession from the time the student has completed schooling until the next examination.
