The Code of Virginia as hosted by LawServer comes from the Virginia General Assembly, and is updated when the General Assembly updates its own version of the Code. The General Assembly does not immediately update the Code when a new law is enacted, however. So to bring your research up to the date it is sometimes necessary to look for laws enacted since the latest version of the Code was published. That information is available here.
