Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 09.19.050

  • Litigation: A case, controversy, or lawsuit. Participants (plaintiffs and defendants) in lawsuits are called litigants.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

The automatic disclosure provisions of Rule 26, Alaska Rules of Civil Procedure, do not apply to litigation against the state brought by a prisoner.
