Road construction and maintenance authority is granted to local governments, as defined in Alaska Stat. § 19.30.241, which do not otherwise have that authority; however, the authority granted is limited to participation in the construction and maintenance of local service roads under Alaska Stat. § 19.30.111 – 19.30.241.
