A regional occupational center or regional occupational program shall do all of the following:

(a) Provide individual counseling and guidance in career technical matters.

  • Regional occupational program: as used in this chapter , means a sequence of career technical or technical training programs that meet the criteria and standards of instructional programs in regional occupational centers and are conducted in a variety of physical facilities that are not necessarily situated in one single plant or site. (b) Provide a curriculum that includes a sequence of academic and skill instruction in specific occupational fields leading to an approved skill certificate and vocational degree, apprenticeship, or postsecondary certificate program pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (b) of Section 52302, or provide an opportunity for pupils to acquire entry-level career technical skills.

(c) Maintain a pupil-teacher ratio which will enable pupils to achieve optimum benefits from the instructional program.

(d) Assign the highest priority in services to youth from the age of 16 to 18 years, inclusive.
