  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Alarm agent: means a person employed by an alarm company operator whose duties include selling on premises, altering, installing, maintaining, moving, repairing, replacing, servicing, responding, or monitoring an alarm system, or a person who manages or supervises a person employed by an alarm company to perform any of the duties described in this subdivision or any person in training for any of the duties described in this subdivision.   • Alarm system: means an assembly of equipment and devices arranged to signal the presence of a hazard requiring urgent attention and to which police may respond. See California Government Code 50715
  • Annuity: A periodic (usually annual) payment of a fixed sum of money for either the life of the recipient or for a fixed number of years. A series of payments under a contract from an insurance company, a trust company, or an individual. Annuity payments are made at regular intervals over a period of more than one full year.
  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • Award: means monthly payments for life derived from contributions by a department. See California Government Code 50952
