  • act: as used in this division , means the Improvement Bond Act of 1915. See California Penal Code 18780
  • Agency: means the agency authorized under Section 66957 to expend money in the fund. See California Food and Agricultural Code 7276
  • Basic system: as used in this article , means a telephone service which automatically connects a person dialing the digits "911" to an established public safety answering point through normal telephone service facilities. See California Government Code 53107
  • Board: means the original board and any successor board selected and constituted under this chapter. See California Government Code 6599.02
  • board of directors: means the Board of Directors of the California Exposition and State Fair. See California Government Code 6567
  • bonds: means revenue bonds, notes or other evidences of indebtedness. See California Government Code 6540
  • Building ordinances: means ordinances of a county or city regulating building and construction and removal of buildings, including ordinances relating to the matters set forth in Section 38660 and similar matters, and including ordinances relating to building permits and building inspection. See California Government Code 53090
  • business opportunity: shall include the sale or lease of the business and goodwill of an existing business enterprise or opportunity. See California Government Code 53098.1
  • Cable television operator: means the person or entity providing cable television services through the cable television system. See California Government Code 53054.2
  • City: means the City of Vallejo. See California Government Code 34903
  • Commission: means the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission. See California Government Code 34903
  • Committee: means the Lake Tahoe Acquisitions Finance Committee created by Section 66955. See California Food and Agricultural Code 7276
  • Counties: means all of the counties within which a portion of the park or other recreation facility, operated and maintained by a joint county park board, is located. See California Government Code 6580
  • County: means the County of Solano. See California Government Code 34903
  • Department: means the Department of Transportation. See California Government Code 34903
  • Department: means the Employment Development Department. See California Government Code 6513
  • Director: means the Director of Employment Development. See California Government Code 6513
  • Division: as used in this article , means the Public Safety Communications Division within the Office of Emergency Services. See California Government Code 53108.5
  • Entity: as used in this article means any agency, board or commission provided for by a joint powers agreement pursuant to Article 1 of this chapter. See California Government Code 6542
  • Expense of an emergency response: means reasonable costs incurred by a public agency in reasonably making an appropriate emergency response to the incident, but shall only include those costs directly arising because of the response to the particular incident. See California Government Code 53156
  • Fair and exhibition authority: as used in this article , means an entity created by a joint powers agreement for the purpose of financing or otherwise facilitating agricultural, livestock, industrial, cultural, or other types of fairs or exhibitions. See California Government Code 6542.1
  • Financial and compliance audit: means an audit that complies with the financial and compliance audit requirements of the Standards for Audit of Governmental Organizations, Programs, Activities and Functions published by the United States General Accounting Office. See California Government Code 53131
  • Freeway service patrol: means a program managed by the Department of the California Highway Patrol, the department, and a regional or local entity which provides emergency roadside assistance on a freeway in an urban area. See California Government Code 6077
  • Fund: means the Lake Tahoe Acquisitions Fund. See California Food and Agricultural Code 7276
  • Governing body: as used in this article means the board or commission provided for by a joint powers agreement, pursuant to Article 1 of this chapter. See California Government Code 6543
  • Indenture: as used in this article means the instrument providing the terms and conditions for the issuance of the revenue bonds, and may be a resolution, order, agreement or other instrument. See California Government Code 6544
  • Independent public accountants: means a certified public accountant, or a public accountant who is licensed by the California Board of Accountancy who holds a valid permit to practice accountancy. See California Government Code 53131
  • Intentionally wrongful conduct: means conduct intended to injure another person or property. See California Government Code 53156
  • Joint county park board: means a board, commission, or other public entity organized pursuant to an agreement made in accordance with Article 1 (commencing with Section 6500) of this chapter for the purpose of improving, operating, and maintaining a single park or other recreation facility located within more than one county, if none of the territory within the park or other recreation facility is contained within an incorporated city, and further, if all of the counties within which the park or other recreation facility is located are parties to the agreement creating the board, commission, or other public entity. See California Government Code 6580
  • Judgment: means the criminal restitution order. See California Government Code 53103
  • Judgment debtor: means any defendant who is the subject of the criminal restitution order. See California Government Code 53103
  • legislative body: means the board of supervisors in the case of a county or a city and county, the city council or board of trustees in the case of a city, and the board of directors or other governing body in the case of a district or other public agency, unless the context otherwise requires. See California Government Code 53000
  • legislative body: shall include the governing body of any district or other public corporation authorized by law to construct such public improvements. See California Government Code 6254
  • listing: as used in this part includes, but is not limited to:

  • local agency: means public agency. See California Government Code 53020
  • Local agency: means an agency of the state for the local performance of governmental or proprietary function within limited boundaries. See California Government Code 53090
  • Local agency: means a city, county, city and county, special district, joint-powers agency, public corporation, nonprofit corporation, or any other agency that is eligible to receive federal block grant funds. See California Government Code 53131
  • Local agency: as used in this article means any public agency designated in Section 6500 other than the federal government or any federal department or agency, this state, an adjoining state, or any state department or agency. See California Government Code 6542.5
  • Local agency: includes a county. See California Government Code 6252
  • Local agency: means any city, county, city and county, school district, special district, authority, other political subdivision of or within the state, an association or consortium of school districts formed or operating pursuant to Section 35179 of the Education Code, or any joint powers authority composed of any of these agencies. See California Government Code 6599.02
  • Member of the public: means any person, except a member, agent, officer, or employee of a federal, state, or local agency acting within the scope of his or her membership, agency, office, or employment. See California Government Code 6252
  • Members of the personnel of record: as used in this chapter means every person listed in the records of the registrar as then associated with a licensee. See California Government Code 27237
  • newspaper: includes weekly newspaper, magazine, periodical or other publication. See California Government Code 6075
  • notice: includes official advertising, resolutions, orders, or other matter of any nature whatsoever that are required by law to be published in a newspaper of general circulation. See California Government Code 6060
  • Original board: means the first board of directors constituted and selected pursuant to Section 6599. See California Government Code 6599.02
  • parcel: includes lot. See California Government Code 6253.5
  • Park: means a park or other recreation facility operated and maintained by a joint county park board. See California Government Code 6580
  • Person: as used in this chapter includes an individual, a firm, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, association or other organization, or any combination thereof. See California Government Code 27237
  • Person: includes any natural person, corporation, partnership, limited liability company, firm, or association. See California Government Code 6252
  • Plan: means the White Slough Specific Area Plan adopted pursuant to this chapter. See California Government Code 34903
  • Project: as used in this article includes buildings, structures, improvements and all facilities appurtenant thereto or provided therefor together with land and offstreet parking facilities necessary therefor to be financed by revenue bonds issued pursuant to this article. See California Government Code 6545
  • public agency: as used in this article , means a district, public authority, public agency, and any other political subdivision or public corporation in the state, but does not include the state or a county, city and county, or city. See California Government Code 53050
  • Public agency: as used in this article , means the state, and any city, county, city and county, municipal corporation, public district, or public authority located in whole or in part within this state which provides or has authority to provide firefighting, police, ambulance, medical, or other emergency services. See California Government Code 53101
  • Public agency: means the state and any city, county, municipal corporation, district, or public authority located, in whole or in part, within this state which provides or may provide firefighting, police, ambulance, medical, or other emergency services. See California Government Code 53156
  • public agency: includes , but is not limited to, the federal government or any federal department or agency, this state, another state or any state department or agency, a county, county board of education, county superintendent of schools, city, public corporation, public district, regional transportation commission of this state or another state, a federally recognized Indian tribe, or any joint powers authority formed pursuant to this article by any of these agencies.   • Public agency: as used in this chapter , includes the State, its various commissions, boards and departments and any county, city, district or state agency authorized to enter into contracts for public work. See California Penal Code 25625
  • Public agency: means any state or local agency. See California Government Code 6252
  • Public records: includes any writing containing information relating to the conduct of the public's business prepared, owned, used, or retained by any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristics. See California Government Code 6252
  • Public safety agency: as used in this article , means a functional division of a public agency which provides firefighting, police, medical, or other emergency services. See California Government Code 53102
  • public safety official: means the following parties, whether active or retired:

    California Government Code 6254.24

  • qualifier: as used in this chapter , means a person who qualifies for a license pursuant to Section 7068. See California Government Code 27237
  • Recovery Account: shall be deemed to refer to the Consumer Recovery Account. See California Education Code 16081
  • Region: includes that part of Lake Tahoe within the jurisdiction of the State of California, the adjacent parts of the Counties of El Dorado and Placer lying within the Tahoe Basin in the State of California, and that additional and adjacent part of the County of Placer outside of the Tahoe Basin in the State of California which lies southward and eastward of a line starting at the intersection of the basin crestline and the north boundary of Section 1, thence west to the northwest corner of Section 3, thence south to the intersection of the basin crestline and the west boundary of Section 10. See California Government Code 53060.5
  • region: means the area consisting of Lake Tahoe, the adjacent parts of the Counties of Placer and El Dorado lying within the Tahoe Basin in the State of California, and that additional and adjacent part of the County of Placer outside the Tahoe Basin in the State of California which lies southward and eastward of a line starting at the intersection of the basin crestline and the north boundary of Section 1, thence west to the northwest corner of Section 3, thence south to the intersection of the basin crestline and the west boundary of Section 10. See California Food and Agricultural Code 7276
  • rural areas: means areas as defined in Section 101 of Title 23 of the United States Code. See California Government Code 6023
  • Salesperson: when used without modification, means a person licensed as a salesperson under any of the provisions of this part. See California Government Code 53090
  • South White Slough: means all tidally influenced areas south of State Highway Route 37 which would naturally drain northerly to the Napa River, any areas within the tidally influenced portions of the slough that have been filled pursuant to a commission permit, and any areas within the tidally influenced portions of the slough which have been filled after January 1, 1977, without a permit from the commission. See California Government Code 34903
  • State agency: means every state office, officer, department, division, bureau, board, and commission or other state body or agency, except those agencies provided for in Article IV (except Section 20 thereof) or Article VI of the California Constitution. See California Government Code 6252
  • State department: means that state organization designated by law or agreement that allocates block grant funds to local agencies or is otherwise responsible for administering block grant funds. See California Government Code 53131
  • Video provider: means any person, company, or service which provides one or more channels of video programming to a residence, including a home, condominium, apartment, or mobilehome, where some fee is paid, whether directly or as included in dues or rental charges, for that service, whether or not public rights-of-way are utilized in the delivery of the video programming. See California Government Code 53054.2
  • White Slough: means , within the county and the city, the historic, unfilled bed of White Slough, all lands surrounding the historic bed of White Slough that have been touched by tidal waters since January 1, 1977, any areas within the tidal and tidally influenced portions of the slough that have been filled pursuant to a permit from the commission, and any areas within the tidal and tidally influenced portions of the slough which have been filled after January 1, 1977, without a permit from the commission. See California Government Code 34903
  • White Slough Project: means , within the county and the city, the restoration and enhancement of the habitat values of South White Slough, the widening of State Highway Route 37 between Sacramento Street and State Highway Route 29 to not more than four traffic lanes with medians and shoulders of the minimum width possible, the construction of new tidal channels and control structures underneath the existing and the widened portions of State Highway Route 37, the construction of new interchanges between State Highway Route 37 and State Highway 29 and Sacramento Street, the covering with fill of an existing sewerline on the south side of the highway widening, and the relocation of the existing sewerline north of State Highway Route 37 within the area required for the widening of State Highway Route 37.   • Writing: means any handwriting, typewriting, printing, photostating, photographing, photocopying, transmitting by electronic mail or facsimile, and every other means of recording upon any tangible thing any form of communication or representation, including letters, words, pictures, sounds, or symbols, or combinations thereof, and any record thereby created, regardless of the manner in which the record has been stored. See California Government Code 6252
