The board may administer oaths and issue subpenas for the attendance and giving of testimony by witnesses and for the production of evidence in any proceeding in any part of the State.

Terms Used In California Water Code 1080
- proceeding: means any inquiry, investigation, hearing, ascertainment, or other proceeding ordered or undertaken by the board pursuant to this code. See California Water Code 1075
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
- Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
