The Commissioner of Education shall consult with (1) the Board of Trustees for Community-Technical Colleges, (2) the Board of Trustees of the Connecticut State University System, (3) the boards of trustees for higher education institutions licensed and accredited by the Board of Regents for Higher Education or Office of Higher Education, or (4) the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut and may consult with any not-for-profit corporation approved by the Commissioner of Education to initiate collaborative planning for establishing additional interdistrict magnet schools in the Sheff region, as defined in subsection (q) of § 10-266aa.
