Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 189-5

  • Marine life: means any type or species of saltwater fish, shellfish, mollusks, crustaceans, coral, or other marine animals, including any part, product, egg, or offspring thereof; or seaweeds or other marine plants, including any part, product, seed, or root thereof. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 187A-1

It is unlawful for any person who has not been lawfully admitted to the United States to engage in taking marine life for commercial purposes in the waters of the State. The term “United States” as used in this section, includes the several states and the territories and possessions of the United States.
