Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 353D-2

  • Center: means an offender family service center. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 353D-2
  • Department: means that department of the State that has jurisdiction over the administration of the correctional facilities. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 353D-2
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Program: means the offender family service center program. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 353D-2

As used in this chapter:

“Center” means an offender family service center.

“Department” means that department of the State that has jurisdiction over the administration of the correctional facilities.

“Program” means the offender family service center program.
