Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes > Chapter 342G > Part VI

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Board: means the board of psychology. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
  • Department: means the department of health. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 342G-1
  • Director: means the director of commerce and consumer affairs. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Licensed: means the authority to engage in the autonomous practice of psychology. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 465-1
  • Practice of psychology: means the observation, description, evaluation, interpretation, or modification of human behavior by the application of psychological principles, methods, or procedures, for the purpose of preventing or eliminating symptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and of enhancing interpersonal relationships, work and life adjustment, personal effectiveness, behavioral health, and mental health.   • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
