Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 815 ILCS 710/19

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Motor Vehicle Review Board shall be administered by the Secretary of State who is vested with powers, duties, and jurisdiction of administering the provisions of this Act. The Board shall maintain permanent records of its meetings, hearings, and decisions at the Office of the Secretary of State.
