Sec. 1. For purposes of this chapter, “academic honors student” refers to a student who:
(1) for the student’s first academic year, graduated from high school with an academic honors diploma or technical honors diploma; or
(2) for a student’s most recently concluded academic year that is after the student’s first academic year, maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale or its equivalent as established by the eligible institution. As added by P.L.281-2013, SEC.5.
