Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 14-611

  • Bequest: Property gifted by will.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

Any person or persons, firm, organization, corporation or society, desiring to make a donation of money, personal property or real estate for the benefit of such hospital, shall have the right to vest title of the money or real estate so donated in said city, to be controlled when accepted by the board of hospital trustees according to the terms of the deed, gift, devise or bequest of such property.
