Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 17-1504

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

That any telephone company principally doing business in any rural district in the state of Kansas at any regular annual meeting or at a special meeting duly called may change from an ordinary corporation into a cooperative society as provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 17-1501, 17-1502 and 17-1503 and 17-1515, by a vote representing the majority of all the stock of such corporation, and thereafter such corporation shall be and become a cooperative society as provided by said sections.
