Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 2-3009

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.

If the grain assessment is not paid to the secretary as provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 2-3007, and amendments thereto, or within 10 days thereafter, the lien may within one year after the expiration of such 10-day period be foreclosed in any court having jurisdiction in the county in which the grain was grown, or sold, or in which such grain may be found, or in which such grain may have been commingled with other like grain.
