Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 25:1284

  • Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.

A.  The division of state archives and records service within the office of the secretary of state shall, upon request, prepare and distribute to state offices, clerks of court and judges and the local governing authorities in the state of Louisiana, copies of the documents set forth in La. Rev. Stat. 25:1282 suitable for framing and display, upon receipt of funds to reimburse the secretary for the actual cost of the preparation and delivery of the documents.

B.  Each state office, clerk of court, judge and local governing authority is authorized to post the documents for display provided by the secretary in a visible public location, along with other historical documents.

C.  Nothing herein shall prohibit the state or local governing officers, judges or clerks of court from reprinting the documents in La. Rev. Stat. 25:1282 or accepting a donation of already printed documents for display in public buildings.
