Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 46:10

  • Charity: An agency, institution, or organization in existence and operating for the benefit of an indefinite number of persons and conducted for educational, religious, scientific, medical, or other beneficent purposes.

No compromise of any claim referred to in La. Rev. Stat. 46:9, whether made before or after the filing of suit, shall affect the right of any of the charity hospitals of this state or of any veterans administration hospital in the state to recover the fees and charges, if any, that may be due the hospital for treatment, from any party or parties who may be liable for them under any law of this state.
