Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11 – As used in this Part, unless the context requires otherwise, the terms set forth below shall have the following meanings:

- Board: means the Oyster Lease Damage Evaluation Board. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Department: means the Department of Natural Resources. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Mineral activity: means exploration (including all seismic operations), production, transportation (of equipment or product), and any other activity associated with the production of oil and gas. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Owner: means an owner or operator of a mineral activity. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11
- Secretary: means the secretary of the Department of Natural Resources or his designee. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:700.11

(1) “Biological test data” means surveys of oyster beds and grounds by a certified biologist to determine the quality, condition, and value of oyster beds and grounds.
(2) “Board” means the Oyster Lease Damage Evaluation Board.
