  • Amateur: means any of the following:

    (a)  Contests or exhibitions of armed or unarmed combat or any combination thereof conducted by or participated in exclusively by any state-accredited middle school or high school, college, or university, or by any association or organization of a school, college, or university, when each participant in the contests or exhibitions is a bona fide student in the state-accredited middle school or high school, college, or university.   • Board: means the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3444
  • Club: means any club, corporation, association, or individual under the authority of the commission. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:2246
  • Commission: means the State Boxing and Wrestling Commission. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:2246
  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of the office of financial institutions. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3
  • Deferred presentment transaction: means a transaction made pursuant to a written agreement whereby a licensee:

    (a)  Accepts a check from the issuer dated as of the date it was written;

    (b)  Agrees to hold the check for a period of time not to exceed thirty days prior to negotiation or presentment; and

    (c)  Pays to the issuer of the check the amount of the check less the fee permitted in R. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3

  • Exhibition: means :

    (a)  As applied to boxing and mixed technique events, any event in which the participants show or display their skills without necessarily striving to win. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:2246

  • Licensee: means a person licensed pursuant to this Chapter that offers deferred presentment transactions or small loans, or both. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3
  • Mixed technique event: means contests in which contestants attack and defend with wrestling or grappling and with the fists and other parts of the human body, including but not limited to the foot, knee, leg, elbow, or head, wherein dangerous blows are intended to be struck with full contact. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:2246
  • Partial payment: means a payment of fifty dollars or more on a deferred presentment transaction or small loan. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3
  • person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:2021
  • Physician: means a natural person who is the holder of an allopathic (M. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3444
  • Prepayment: means payment in full of the deferred presentment transaction or small loan amount prior to the end of the term of that transaction or loan. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3
  • Small loan: means a consumer loan, as defined in R. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3578.3
  • Telemedicine: means the practice of health care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, and transfer of medical data using interactive telecommunication technology that enables a health care practitioner and a patient at two locations separated by distance to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:3444
