- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
When it is the duty of an officer to make complaint before any judge, clerk or justice of the peace, he may make oath to it according to his knowledge and belief. [PL 1987, c. 736, §22 (AMD).]
