Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes > Title 24-A > Chapter 45

Board of trustees: means the board of trustees of the system. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 12701
Capital grant: means a grant award from the fund pursuant to section 6208 to cover eligible costs for a capital grant as specified in subsection 5, paragraph C. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201
College: means a community college as established in section 12714. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 12701
Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201
Cooperative services grant: means a grant award from the fund pursuant to section 6208 to cover eligible costs for a cooperative services grant as specified in subsection 5, paragraph B. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201
Department: means the Department of Economic and Community Development. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201
Eligible applicant: means a municipality, county or regional government subdivision. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201
Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
Municipal officers: means :

Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.

Planning grant: means a grant award from the fund pursuant to section 6208 to cover eligible costs of developing a qualifying project for a cooperative services grant. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 6201

President: means the president of a community college. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 12701

President of the system: means the President of the Maine Community College System. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 12701

Qualifying project: means a project designed to achieve significant and sustainable savings in the cost of delivering local and regional governmental services that reduces the demand for property tax revenues through collaborative approaches to service delivery, enhanced regional delivery systems, consolidated administrative services, broad-based purchasing alliances and interlocal agreements. Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.

Regional government subdivision: means :

Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

System: means the Maine Community College System. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 12701
