  • Apprentice electrician: means an apprentice who is engaged in a written agreement to work at and learn the trade of an electrician under the direct supervision of a licensed master, journeyman or limited electrician in an apprenticeship program registered pursuant to 29 C. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Board: means the Electricians' Examining Board. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • certified seed: as used in this Title shall be deemed to mean potato, vegetable, forage crop or grain seeds as shall have been grown and prepared for sale in accordance with regulations laid down by the commissioner and for which a certificate or tag has been issued as provided in section 2103. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 7 Sec. 2101
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Docket: A log containing brief entries of court proceedings.
  • Electrical company: means a person, firm, corporation or partnership employing licensees engaged in the business of doing electrical installations. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Electrical installations: includes complete installations related to photovoltaic, fuel cell and wind power generation systems. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Entitlement: A Federal program or provision of law that requires payments to any person or unit of government that meets the eligibility criteria established by law. Entitlements constitute a binding obligation on the part of the Federal Government, and eligible recipients have legal recourse if the obligation is not fulfilled. Social Security and veterans' compensation and pensions are examples of entitlement programs.
  • Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
  • Helper electrician: means a person licensed to make electrical installations in the employment of a licensed master electrician, limited electrician or electrical company and under the direct supervision of a licensed master, journeyman or limited electrician but who does not qualify under subsection 1. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • in writing: include printing and other modes of making legible words. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Journeyman electrician: means a person licensed to make electrical installations in the employment and under the indirect supervision of a licensed master electrician, limited electrician or electrical company. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Journeyman-in-training electrician: means a person making electrical installations in the employment of a licensed master electrician, limited electrician or electrical company and under the indirect supervision of a licensed limited or master electrician. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Limited electrician: means a person licensed to make electrical installations limited to a specific type of electrically operated equipment or to specific electrical installations only authorized by this license. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Majority: when used in reference to age shall mean the age of 18 and over. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Master electrician: means a licensed person qualified under this chapter to engage in the business of installing electrical wires, conduits, apparatus, fixtures and other electrical equipment. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Month: means a calendar month. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Municipal officers: means :

  • Municipal year: means a municipality's fiscal year as determined by the municipal officers under section 5651. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Municipality: includes cities, towns and plantations, except that "municipality" does not include plantations in Title 10, chapter 110, subchapter IV; or Title 30?A, Part 2. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Municipality: means a city or town, except as provided in chapter 225. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
  • Registered apprenticeship: means an apprenticeship program registered with the Maine Apprenticeship Program in accordance with Title 26, chapter 37. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Town: includes cities and plantations, unless otherwise expressed or implied. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
  • Utility corporation: means a utility that is not a public utility, as defined in Title 35?A, section 102, or a person, firm or corporation subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Communications Commission. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1101
  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
