  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • County: means a county of the State or Baltimore City. See
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
(a) A writ of execution or attachment shall be directed to the sheriff of the county where the property is located.

(b) A sheriff may seize only property found within his county.
