Terms Used In Michigan Laws 290.648

  • Director: means the director of the department of agriculture or his or her authorized representative. See Michigan Laws 290.642
  • Gasoline: means a volatile mixture of liquid hydrocarbons generally containing small amounts of additives suitable for use in spark-ignition internal combustion engines, and commonly or commercially known or sold as gasoline. See Michigan Laws 290.642
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
   The gasoline inspection and testing fund is created in the state treasury and shall be administered by the director. The state treasurer shall direct the investment of money in the fund. The money in the fund and earnings from investment of the money shall be used exclusively for the purpose of funding the gasoline inspection and testing program and the vapor-recovery program established in this act. Any civil fines ordered in an enforcement proceeding brought under section 4 and 5, any money that may be appropriated from the general fund for the purposes of section 7 and 9a to 9j, and any money made available to the director by an agency of the federal government for purposes of section 7 and 9a to 9j shall be deposited in the fund. In addition, any other funds authorized by law for the enforcement of this act may be deposited in the gasoline inspection and testing fund.
