  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    Boards of supervisors in counties in this state now or hereafter having not less than 30,000 nor more than 1,500,000 population, and having a health officer appointed under the provisions of Act No. 306 of the Public Acts of 1927, as amended, being section 327.201 to 327.208a of the Compiled Laws of 1948, may abolish the office of coroner provided for in section 52.86 and 52.87 of the Compiled Laws of 1948 and transfer the duties the coroner to the health officer appointed under Act No. 306 of the Public Acts of 1927, as amended.
