Terms Used In Missouri Laws 333.051

  • Embalmer: any individual licensed to engage in the practice of embalming. See Missouri Laws 333.011
  • Funeral director: any individual licensed to engage in the practice of funeral directing. See Missouri Laws 333.011
  • Person: any individual, partnership, corporation, cooperative, association, or other entity. See Missouri Laws 333.011
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

A person holding a valid, unrevoked and unexpired license to practice funeral directing or embalming in another state or territory with requirements less than those of this state may, after five consecutive years of active experience as a licensed funeral director or embalmer in that state, apply for a license to practice in this state after passing a test to prove his or her proficiency, including but not limited to a knowledge of the laws and regulations of this state as to funeral directing and embalming.
