A collector, upon loss of possession of a historical vehicle registered pursuant to section 60-3,130, may have the registration and license plate transferred to another vehicle in his or her possession, which is eligible for such registration, upon payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars. The fee shall be remitted to the State Treasurer for credit to the Highway Trust Fund.

  • Collector: means the owner of one or more historical vehicles who collects, purchases, acquires, trades, or disposes of such historical vehicles or parts thereof for his or her own use in order to preserve, restore, and maintain a historical vehicle or vehicles for hobby purposes.   • Historical vehicle: means a motor vehicle or trailer which is thirty or more years old, which is essentially unaltered from the original manufacturer's specifications, and which is, because of its significance, being collected, preserved, restored, or maintained by a collector as a leisure pursuit.
