Acquire: when used in connection with a grant of power or property right to any person shall include the purchase, grant, gift, devise, bequest, and obtaining by eminent domain. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
Action: shall include any proceeding in any court of this state. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.
Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
State: when applied to different states of the United States shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories organized by Congress. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
United States: shall include territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
Year: shall mean calendar year. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
