  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Department: means the Department of Taxation. See Nevada Revised Statutes 360.001
  • importer: means any person who, in the case of liquors which are brewed, fermented or produced outside the State, is first in possession thereof within the State after completion of the act of importation. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.030
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • liquor: means beer, wine, gin, whiskey, cordials, ethyl alcohol or rum, and every liquid containing one-half of 1 percent or more of alcohol by volume and which is used for beverage purposes. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.040
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • Outlays: Outlays are payments made (generally through the issuance of checks or disbursement of cash) to liquidate obligations. Outlays during a fiscal year may be for payment of obligations incurred in prior years or in the same year.
  • permissible person: means any duly ordained minister who uses liquor for sacramental purposes, any doctor, apothecary or pharmaceutist who uses alcohol for or in compounding medicine, or the representative of any school, university, hospital, clinic or industrial concern where liquor is used and needed for industrial purposes and not for concocting beverages for drink.   • Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
