I. Drivers of vehicles proceeding in opposite directions shall pass each other to the right, and upon roadways having width for not more than one line of traffic in each direction, each driver shall give to the other at least 1/2 of the main-traveled portion of the roadway as nearly as possible.
   II. The fine for a violation of this section shall be $75.

Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 265:17

  • Driver: shall mean a person who drives or is in actual physical control of a motor vehicle as defined in RSA 259:60 or an OHRV or snowmobile. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:25
  • Roadway: shall mean that portion of a way improved, designed or ordinarily used for vehicular travel, exclusive of the sidewalk, berm or shoulder even though such sidewalk, berm or shoulder is used by persons riding bicycles or other human powered vehicles. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:92
  • Traffic: shall mean pedestrians, ridden or herded animals, vehicles, streetcars, and other conveyances either singly or together while using any way for purposes of travel. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 259:110
