  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
The franchise of a corporation authorized to receive tolls, so far as relates to the right to receive tolls, with all the privileges and immunities belonging thereto, may be attached by leaving an attested copy of the writ and of the officer’s return thereon with the clerk, treasurer or a director of the corporation.
