Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 512:18

  • Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
If, by the depositions taken by the plaintiff and trustee, it appears that the trustee denies his liability as claimed by the plaintiff, either of the parties, before a decision of the court, may move for a trial by the jury.
